EMRDA has its own accounting and financial policy manual. The financial activities of the organization are guided by the manual. It has centralized financial operations. The financial activities of EMRDA are being handled in conformity with the rules specified under GAAP and new legislation of charities and societies. The financial accounting system the organization is utilizing is double entry with updated Peachtree software program.
Financial Auditing will be undertaken by external chartered certified auditors. Its account till 2010 has been audited, and the auditing had been presented to the general assembly for approval and the audit report is disseminated to donors, government and different stakeholders.
Compliance Audit will be undertaken based on the donor’s interest and the audit time can be set monthly, quarterly, bi-annually and annually accordingly.

In the year 2010 Birr 12,632,896 was planned and, Birr 14,350,071 which accounts for 114% of the planned budget are collected and Birr 12,924,771 that accounts for 90% of the collected birr and 102% of the planned budget were spent out of the total collected fund 90% was spent for project purpose and the left 10% was spent for administration purpose.
