Human Resource capacity
EMRDA currently has 131 full time employees and more than 2,000 volunteers that are working at different project sites and at its head office in Addis Ababa. More than 90% of the total employees of EMRDA are qualified with Diploma and above academic background in diverse areas of project and financial management areas. Currently EMRDA have 5 Regional branch offices and 54 project offices in 7 regional states of the country are established.
In addition to the employed Project Staffs in all project areas, Project Advisory Committee at Woreda level, Project Management Committee at Kebele/site level , CBOs union and youth clubs, OVCs support Committee are established for ensuring community participation and sustainability and provided with capacity building trainings and workshops. 2011 Staff profile is show below on the table.

Organizational Capacity
EMRDA has performed its institutional capacity assessment during 1998, 2000, 2002, 2005 and 2009As a result the OCA showed EMRDA’s improvement from time to time and that it reached on the level of Maturity by expanding its level in respect to Governance, Management Practices, Human Resources, Financial Resources, Service Delivery, External Relations and Sustainability.
- EMRDA has developed its own administration and finance system with appropriate software like Peachtree and logistic manuals;
- It has able to develop M&E system, M&E personnel, M&E manual, M&E matrixes and checklists to monitor activities of the projects;
- It has established facilities at head quarter and branch offices with vehicle, computer and modern communications systems;
- Capable of preparing and executing any project proposals and activities that are in line with organizational objectives and values;
- Established networking with professional associations, research institutions and other international & national development agencies and forums;
- Its finance has been audited up to 2009 by an external auditing firm and it has proved to have strong financial system and personnel;
